Buying a Home

Buying a Home

Buying a home can be a daunting task even if you have done it before. Some of the concerns a buyer has are very normal. The first step is to get an updated credit report. Each year you are entitled to a free credit report from each of three credit reporting bureaus. You can order them online via the link below or call a toll free number and have them mailed to you.

Visit www.annualcreditreport.com, or Call 877-322-8228.

The second step is to speak with a mortgage officer who will begin the process of qualifying you for a mortgage. This allows you to know how much you can afford.

The third step is to decide which area of the city in which you would like to reside; factors such as school districts, the distance from work, etc. prior to contacting an agent. My website has a lot of the information you will need.

The fourth step is to contact an agent and let he or she know what type of home you would prefer, how many bedrooms, baths, etc, and your price range.

At this point, I would set up a profile for you that would send you any listings in your price range that have the features you want. I can send it on a weekly basis to your email inbox. This will allow you to preview the homes online and save you time and money driving around the city. Once you see a home you like, you can call me or email me. I will set up an appointment to show it to you.

Alabama is a "buyer beware" state. This means that the seller is under no obligation to tell you anything negative about the home that might affect its sale. Thus, as a Buyer's Agent, I can represent you and protect your interests in the negotiations. This is still advisable if you are considering new construction.

I have a question to ask you. Would you go to a plumber if you had a tooth ache?

Why not take advantage of my experience as a local market expert for the greater Birmingham area and contact me to let me help you make the most informed decisions you can, every step of the way?
